The City of George West has been awarded a $1 million grant through the Downtown Revitalization Program to support improvements in the city’s downtown area.
The funds will be used for infrastructure improvements such as sidewalks, curbs and gutters, along with beautification projects including improved pedestrian lighting, benches and general landscaping. The project area will extend from Brazos Street down Houston Street to U.S. Highway 281.
