Nathaniel Valverde

Chief of Police

Chief Nathaniel Valverde began his career at the age of 18 with the City of George West as a Code Compliance Officer, later gaining his license as a Code Enforcement Officer. In 2017 he was provided with the opportunity to be sponsored by the City of George West to attend the Del Mar College Regional Police Academy, graduating in 2017.

Chief  Valverde has gained experience through different positions within the George West Police Department to include Code Enforcement, Patrol, Criminal Investigation and current Administrative role, along with the inspiration and guidance from Chief ’s father whom is currently Chief of Police for the Orange Grove Police Department.

Chief  Valverde is a native of George West and currently holds an Intermediate peace officer license through the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and is a TCOLE instructor and TASER CEW (Conducted Energy Weapon) instructor.
