The animal control division is no longer under the direction of the public works department. It is now under the direction of the police department. If you have any issues regarding animals, you can call an animal control officer directly at 361-494-7059 (during business hours), the police department (during business hours) at 361-449-3800, or the sheriff’s department at 361-449-2271 (during non-business hours).
Animal control will not respond after business hours to animal complaints unless it is for an animal bite, a vicious animal call, or an animal abuse call. If you have an animal bite, a vicious animal call, or animal abuse call, please call the sheriff’s dept after hours and they will have an officer respond. All other calls should be made during business hours. Thank you in advance for your patience during this transition.
